At HVG, we operate on a simple protocol when cleaning original-condition bikes. Unless there's just no other possible way, we do not add paint, plating or machine polishing. If it needs cleaning, waxing or polishing to clean it up, then as long as it is done without a machine, only by hand, will we do it. In the end, this has given us the results we wanted without disturbing original finishes.
