Description
A set, left and right,backing plates for a Vincent Black Lightining front brake, cast in Elektron. Vincent part nos. H7/6S and H7/5S.

Serial Numbers
These items are original and half century old at this point in time. Cast in magnesium alloy,(elektron in Europe), these were thought to be both lightweight and stiffer than the sheet metal brakes of the street models. Because of their age and the fact that magnesium deteriorates, these items should only be used for a Black Lightning used for display and not for active riding or racing.

The right brake plate has the fittings for the speedometer gearbox to be fitted so as to use the Lightning, SMITHS 180 mph clock in conjunction with the rev counter. As you can see, the original, semi-gloss black paint has been reapplied. Use Shadow drums and shoes with these backing plates.

This set of front brake parts were from the stores of Dick Busby in Culver City, California. They are the genuine item.
