This original oil painting, signed by the artist J. Montgomery, of a pre-war Vincent HRD Rapide from the Ken Bills Motorcycle Museum in England. Mr. Bills was an exceptional rider before World War 2, and after the war he raced on the Isle of Man on the Vincent Factory Racing Team. Series 'A' Rapides were very rare, with only 70 bikes built. The subject of this painting is believed to be Ken Bills' Series 'A.'
When the museum closed, this painting and the other assets present were auctioned. Images of the museum show other paintings in this style in the museum. The frame is original to the painting, and the frame and canvas are in good condition, ready to be hung on your wall!
Acquired by Herb Harris for his collection in approximately 2000.
